New research study finds links between Hayfever and Exam Performance

We are pleased to announce the publication of our paper on the impact of hayfever on exam performance in school children.  Published online in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, it is the first study to show that children who have hayfever symptoms while taking their GCSE exams are 40% more likely to drop a grade between their mock and final exams…

Join the debate – we’d love to hear your thoughts on our new research study findings:

Integrating Respiratory Care across Primary and Secondary Care

Royal NHS Foundation Trust & Education for Health Trainer

As many of you may know, until very recently I have been happy working as a nurse practitioner in a busy inner city practice where I had a special focus on respiratory care – and a lot of autonomy and freedom.  So if I was happy - why have I moved on?...

Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis
Guest writer: Jan Chantrell, Allergy Lead, Education for Health

What can I say about this condition?  It is thought of to be trivial, easy to treat, simple and gives rise to mild and unimportant symptoms.  That is, if you do not suffer with the condition, or are faced with what seems an ever increasing amount of patients suffering with the so-called mild symptoms…

COMPETITION – How do you demonstrate a concept?  What’s tried, tested, and works for you?

I remember being utterly confused by a request to track down a balloon at a training event in London minutes before Rachel Booker, then Education for Health’s Clinical Leader for COPD, was presenting to 300 health professionals at a conference.  The balloon was, apparently, indispensable in illustrating a restricted airway.  How do you create pictures in the minds of those you teach - patients or students?...
