National Survey findings - Over half a million UK patients with respiratory disease may be receiving the wrong diagnosis and care – read more and download our free education toolkit. 638,000 people with long term respiratory health conditions could be receiving their diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care from practice nurses who have not been adequately trained for that role according to the findings of a national survey.

OSA is a condition that belongs to a spectrum of breathing abnormalities known as ‘sleep disordered breathing’ and is related to increased airway resistance. Recent research has suggested that those with COPD may be at an increased risk of OSA although previous studies suggest that the incidence is similar to that of the general population…

The Met Office and Education for Health have recently been working collaboratively to raise awareness of the impact of the weather on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The Autumn will see, with support from Microsoft, the running of a series of workshops across the country in September and October to educate inform and enthuse health professionals about the key measures that they can take to keep people with COPD well during the winter…
