A new free online educational resource called ‘the Respiratory Education and Learning (REAL) Respiratory clinic'. It utilises elements of eLearning to create interactive and realistic case studies to assist you in managing your consultations better. Developed to encompass the concept of 'real' practice, we've recreated practical clinical experience using real case studies.

ASCEND

ASCEND (Asthma Skills, Continued Education and Nurse Development) is a free, modular, educational training programme focusing on the physiology, diagnosis and management of asthma specifically developed for nurses. It aims to provide a basic overview of current understanding of asthma and its management and provide a foundation of knowledge for nurses new to asthma.  It enhances nurse knowledge and skills relevant for everyday practice and supplements pre-diploma learning.

The modular programme is RCN accredited and commissioned and funded by MSD. It was developed in partnership with Education for Health, PCRS UK, Respiratory Education UK and Asthma UK.

There are five modules in total and they can form a part of a nurse's Continued Professional Development portfolio. Accessible via the Nursing in Practice website, just click onto a module and then register to begin the training.
