Education for Health’s ‘Tackling CVD Risk’ course will give you the knowledge and skills to support patients who have been indentified as being at risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
In 2008 The Department of Health announced an NHS health check for all adults aged 40 to 74 years, with the aim of identifying those who are at high risk of developing CVD.
As more patients are identified as being at high risk, there is a need to develop the skills of healthcare workers to support them in changing their behaviour.

- Understand CVD Risk, metabolic syndrome and diabetes and how they all fit together
- Tackle the challenge of obesity
- Assess risk
- Learn more about motivational interviewing
- Understand lifestyle management
- Use care studies to develop your skills.
This is a one day course with informal lectures and interactive practical sessions delivered by expert practicing clinicians. It is suitable for all healthcare workers.
