TB is on the increase, morbidity has risen by 22% in the last 10 years. TB infection is currently spreading globally at the rate of one person per second. The WHO predicts that nearly one billion people will be newly infected by 2020, of whom 70 million will die. In the UK, London has the highest incidence followed by the West Midlands.

- Examine the roles of clinical audit, clinical governance and public health issues
