All health professionals working with patients who have asthma have a vital role to play in implementing the superb new evidence based guideline.
In May 2008 the British Thoracic Society Guidelines for Asthma Management were significantly updated. In addition to this, a simultaneous update of the ARIA guidelines was undertaken.
This course reflects these changes and is suitable for anyone who undertook Asthma training, either at diploma or degree level prior to May 2008.
In addition to consolidation of prior knowledge, students can expect to gain an overview of the updated BTS guidelines including diagnosis and the concept of ‘probability of asthma’.
Your expert trainer will also give an update of the treatment options, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the new inhaler devices, offering helpful tips for use where applicable.
Interactive participation in managing patients can be experienced using both paediatric and adult case histories to gain a useful insight into their particular needs and acute asthma management will be revisited.
In addition to a very informative day, we provide useful learning materials to support practice in the future.
