Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Update: Short Courses
COPD is the 5th most common cause of death. It is thought to be under diagnosed by as much as 25%. One of the more alarming statistics is that there are estimated to be as many as 2.5 million people who have this chronic disease and don't know it. A fundamental aim of the new NICE COPD Guidelines (published 25 February 2004 ), is to achieve consistency of care and so it is appropriate that better diagnosis is paramount right from the outset.
This interactive one day short course focuses on the key issues which underpin the guidelines and is firmly placed to facilitate their widespread uptake. It is intended for and aimed at those healthcare professionals who are already actively involved in the care and management of COPD patients and will facilitate discussion in order to share good practice which is based on the most up to date evidence available.
