Collaborations
Education for Health is pleased to collaborate with professional organisations for
long and short term projects where the shared objectives focus on improving
patient care.
Recent examples of Education for Health collaborative working include:
ARTP
In order to provide nationally recognised and accredited spirometry training,
endorsed by the British Thoracic Society, the NRTC and Association of
Respiratory Technology and Physiology are developing a diploma level module
accredited by the Open University. The launch of this module is scheduled
for September 2005.
BRITISH MEETING POINT
As a founder member of the British Meeting Point, Education for Health are
delighted to see the continuation of this initiative. Each year at American
Thoracic Society meeting, a number of respiratory, not for profit, organisations
join together to provide conference delegates with a meeting point. The
British Meeting Point is situated in the main exhibition hall and consists
of a number of very comfortable sofas, British newspapers and a fantastic
cup of English tea. If you are attending this event and would like to
meet up with colleagues of just “take time out” seek out the
British Meeting Point and we will endeavour to make you feel most welcome.
BSACI
In partnership with the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the NRTC is working to develop and implement a national educational strategy
to improve the care of people who suffer from allergic disease.
EDUCATION
ALLIANCE
Working in partnership with Heartsave and Warwick Diabetes Care to form
the Education Alliance for Managing Long Term Conditions, and launch the
Diploma in Chronic Disease Management Programme. The programme is designed
for all health professionals but will be of particular relevance to nurses
working in primary care or managing the primary / secondary care interface.
GPIAG
Raising Respiratory Awareness and Improving Standards through Education,
an initiative with the General Practice Airways Group, working with six
English primary care trusts and raising the knowledge, understanding and
standards of care in asthma and COPD in the Community.
NeLH
Education for Health is working with the National Electronic Library for Health in
a consultancy capacity in order to support the development of the Respiratory
Specialist Library. This information service is recommended by Education for Health
to compliment their accredited education and training programmes.
